Anonymous asked: How's it going? Just wondering how you got your internship and where you hope to take the experience you gain from it after it's finished? Do you have any ideas regarding your career path?
Ahoi stranger. I got my internship the ol’ fashioned way, with an interview! Though I had a good interview and a lot of fun talking with J, who is now my boss, I honestly thought I was unqualified to work in advertising and wasn’t expecting a callback. Though he said that they were continuing interviews for another week, I got a call back the very next day after my interview. I plan on finishing the internship and hopefully continuing as a full time Project Manager there for the next lil’ bit. Though I want to work in the ad world I don’t necessarily want to stay on the account side of things and would rather be in art direction, so I will probably go to do a Masters of Design. I’ve been looking at a MDes program offered at OCAD called Strategic Foresight and Innovation which looks super cool, so I might apply to that. So obviously what I gain from this is an understanding of how one of the largest advertising firms in the world works and how individuals work together to execute ad projects.
